I just read this a few weeks ago. It sucks that it isn't even decent until the last 2 chapters. For an author that is against gay marriage and homosexuality, he sure does mention naked prepubescent boys a lot.

The book is meant to be read by children who are intellectually ahead. It's essentially little more than a compelling and inspiring message for such children.
Just a fun children's read, not unlike The Hobbit.
