Currently Time's Arrow, Time's Cycle, a study of 3 works important to the understanding of the geological concept of deep time, a Kierkegaard biography by Garff, and a collection of Krzhinovsky's short stories.

Next up are Beware of Pity by Stefan Zweig, the Slynx by Tatyana Tolstaya, and either a collection Jonathan Collier's short stories or a collection of Daphne du Maurier's short stories.

And the annual reading of The 50 Years Sword to some kids around Halloween me and some friends have done for her freshman high school class the last few years.

Law school has killed my love of reading. Now I just collapse on the couch and blankly watch TV. Seriously the other day I watched a full episode of The Big Bang Theory. The motherfucking Big Bang Theory.

Seriously, don't go to Law school.

See, the key is not to read cases. Just skim the headnotes and flip through a couple minutes before class.

I just got halfway on Wuthering Heights, and would love to discuss it with anyone when I'm done. Since I just got done with the French history book, I'm probably finish it in two days. If anyone is interested, holla.

Come on, I'm in Law school and I don't buy that. Everyone I've met there actually wanted to study History or Literature or whatever else but was sensible enough to know there's no money there.

I love talking about law school as much as anyone else but lets get back on track here.

>> No.1176442

WELL, YOU COULD BE A TAX LAWYER AND ARGUE THEY'RE FOR THE GOOD OF SOCIETY. ALMOST ALL OF THE CASES ARE ABOUT PEOPLE TAKING THE GOVERNMENT TO COURT FOR THINGS THEY THINK THE GOVERNMENT HAS NO RIGHT TO TAX/ THE GOVERNMENT'S MISINTERPRETATIONS OF LEGISLATION.

A LOT OF THE TIME, THE PEOPLE WIN.

yeah, you basically have 3 types of people in law school

1. lib arts majors with nothing better to do
2. people who actually want to be lawyers (generally people who watched The Practice and Boston Legal a little too often)
3. people who just want to hide out from the economy for 3 more years and didn't do well on the GMAT

1984?

Alternatively, move your dystopian visions of the future up a few decades and read:
