I liked Tokyo Vice, the Viking pulp fiction of Robert Low and little Children by Tom Perrotta.

Gaddis' entire oeuvre, Thomas Bernhard indirectly through Gaddis singing his praises in his letters (though he does occasionally get threads here), William H. Gass to a lesser extent, DFW to an even smaller one in that I've seen Infinite Jest in bookstores but never felt like checking it or him out until I saw the memes here.

I get most of my book recommendations off of /lit/ because I live in a country with a terrible literary culture and even University professors only read tripe. I mentioned infinite jest to an English professor and she hadn't heard of it. I guess my goal of reading it in public to attract art thots is pointless.

That makes sense. Slightly off topic but I've also finally taken the PDF pill, now I can read at work. Its hard to bring a book and sit at your desk reading it because then it's obvious that you're not doing anything. Now I bust my ass before lunch and then spend the rest of the day in my office reading on my computer or phone and it looks like I'm still doing something it's very nice.

I have uploaded a whole collection of apocalyptic scinece fiction on novanon.net. 80+ books with all the great classics (Earth Abides, A Canticle For Leibowitz, Where Once The Sweet Birds Sang, I Am Legend etc) but also some newer stuff. I especially like "Swan Song" by Robert McCammon. It is a bit like "The Stand" by Stephen King (a mix of scifi and fantasy) but a whole lot better and wilder, and with an ending that is not a total shitshow with God reaching down from heaven and setting off a bomb.
