So far I only read Kornwolf but Lord Of The Barnyard, his best known book, is in the mail. Both are about outsiders in small American towns, none of his characters are really sympathetic but he made them so lifelike and flawed that i liked them anyway. Plus Kornwolf has a scene in which an Amish boy runs amok with his horse buggy to Slayers' Angel Of Death.
