Spanish movie El Pico. Seriously.
Its about two friends during the heroin crisis in Spain and their relationships with their fathers (the father of one of them is a policeman and of the other one is a communist politician who supports a terrorist organixation that kills policemen (dont worry no cheap thriller) and they end up having to work together to get their sons out of the street

Now this may seem uninteresting but the relationship between the policeman's son and his father is the most heartwrentching I've ever seen in fiction. The director and main actors were themselves heroin addicts who knew quite well what it is to have your father know. There's no Hollywood cheesy "My son is a junkie!" shit. Just devastating reality.
Anyway the ending does have some redemption trough love so its not all djdkkd.

Also try The Sound and the Fury. Obviously not central but the relationship between Quentin and his father is very interesting and sad.

I really liked Big Fish when I was 15 or so, I haven't revisited it in a long time but I remember it being a charming little story
