I haven't read anything fictional in a while, so I wanted something relatively easy and Murakami has never done me wrong in that regard. He gets a lot of hate on this board, but he's fine for what he is.

I like this book, but it is very un-4chan.

I am reading Sewer, Gas and Electric: The Public Works Trilogy by Matt Ruff, endorsed by PYNCHON. It's so fun so far. Very eccentric, like a PKD novel crafted towards a broader intent.

Catch 22. I'm starting to read "seriously" so I don't really know what to make of it. Some sections are really funny, but also war is bad? I feel bad knowing I'm probably not extracting even half of what the book has to offer but I don't want to check sparknotes to understand every book I read.

Roads to Sata by Alan Booth

I'm really liking it so far. I've been getting into travelogues recently and I quite like them. This book is a really fascinating look at the culture of Japan right before the economic boom of the 80s, and is well worth a read.

Though it's not really a travelogue in the proper sense, Rings of Saturn by W. G. Sebald is one of the best books I've read in a long time, I highly reccomend it.
