Been reading top-to-bottom so far, currently on White City Blue.

Out of interest, how come you bought all his books at once without first reading one murakami book in order to see if you like his writing? Did you manage to get a good deal or something? I quite liked Men Without Women and Norwegian Wood btw.

I know it won the Man Booker. Glad to hear it was a worthy winner.

I'm not overly fond of the cover design either.

I was extremely disappointed by Wind-up Bird Chronicles.
It was about the 5th Murakami book I read and got really hyped for it, because people said it was one of his bests (and the only one I really liked was Norwegian Wood).
Anyways, The Wind-up Bird Chronicles mashed up everything that's wrong with Murakami. That might be why some people like it.

None of them honestly. Murakami is an incoherent hack

Kafka on the shore is pretty much a porn novel, I'd personally skip it.

>> No.11708897

why do people hate on him? I mean i get he's really marketable and fashionable but you you gotta give it to the guy, he didn't get there by sucking at it

>a guy staring a whale penis
>talks to his ex-wife's underwear
>fetishized ears
and that's just one book

Burn that entire stack. Don't give it to anyone! They could read something good in that time.
