Why do people insist on making threads about books with only a one-sentence question? If you're going to start a discussion - bloody well express a critical notion on the text at hand.

Contribute to the discussion you want to have or don't bother making a thread.

For Camus, the Absurd was an ideology that explained the oddity of human nature to question the meaning or purpose of life, and the mute, empty response that the universe returns. That we are, in a way programmed by our very being to search for the answer to reality, only to have our queries fall on deaf ears and our questions ignored . Following this realisation, Camus suggests a series of responses that one can adopt in the face of absurdity, and while suicide and religious conversion are viable choices, they are ultimately seen as a submission and defeat to a wayward existence.
