What literature non fiction or otherwise explains why this is so prevalent in single mother households?
Surely without a father passing on toxic masculinity the kid should come out to be a harmless síssy?

Or more likely that he'll have uncontrolled aggressive impulses that could have been countered by a dominant male figure in his life.

Becuase women are meant to teach children empathy and kindness. Without a dad to teach them the manly virtues the result is a sissyfied man who can't face the harshness of reality. Instead of honorably contending with being, the man will instead try to rebel against being itself and lash out against society.
