I will just say that many aspects of my inner life correlate with what Schuon writes, so I will not go as far as to say he was a fraud. I am jealous that he was able to make his own primordial cult while I shitpost on a Mongolian sorcery board, though.

Anyone feel double-standards for lots of traditionalist authors for their critic against "New-Age" spirituality: but people like Schuon get away with it?

I am not talking about his pedo-accusations: but the man supposedly was practicing Islam, yet he painted religious figures like Virgin Mary, naked (forbidden to even paint such religious figures in Islam, let alone naked)

The man was incorporating some Native American "sun dance" rituals to his innter cicle and other very weird stuff.

He probably would have been executed for heresy in every Islamic theocracy possible, unlike Guénon, who adopted extremely orthodox Islamic exoteric practices (even though he probably did have differing views esoterically)

I read "The System of Antichrist: Truth & Falsehood in Postmodernism & the New Age" by Charles Upton.

And while I agree with his critic of many "new age spirituality", people like Schuon seem to get away with the critic. That Schuon´s weird mixture of Islam, Virgin Mary visions and naked fiddling Native American circle dances were orthodox spirituality all along.

All of these perennialists miss that Sufism was just the guise that the old Neoplatonists and Buddhists took when they could no longer practice their esoteric philosophy openly under Islam. It's a monstrous fiction of Orthodox Tradition that Guenon created.

They had no relationship. Aleister Crowley had (sexual) affair with Coomaraswamy´s wife and short honey-moon.
