Oh my god I had to read Siddhartha for 9th grade. Possibly one of the worst books I've ever read.

I think his journey is preaty much self exlanitory. The guy is perfect. And he works as a faryman. How baddass can that be?

Reading something as assignement will never be as enjoyable as reading for pleasure. You analyse things, analyse every detail, setting, style, plot, understand movement, period, author... It is realy hard to enjoy book that way. Especially a complicated one. I know I hated Madama Bovary when I read it for school, but when I reread it years later I loved every bit of it.

There is nothing badass about Siddhartha.

If you love Siddhartha, you have to read more hardcore shit. You will _love_ Thus Spoke Zarathustra. Oh, and related, Zarathustra is the greatest badass alive.

German philosophy FTW.
