how soon is "all of tha sudden" ? he's been popular for well over a year now. his book isn't the main reason he's gotten the popularity he's at now, but since he published it since his fame, it's gotten a lot of attention (obviously positive and negative). particularly on /lit/, he gets shit on from both people on the left and people on the right because they don't agree with his politics and / or don't like him in general (and by extension they don't like his book).
