I wrote a dramatic masterpiece at 25, a mediocre production at 30. And many excellent poems. Still undiscovered.

I have a lot of poems out for submission via Submittable. I've already gotten two poems this year, one in a somewhat notable journal. How many poems do you have to publish before it starts to matter?

No longer shall i whore my muse to public use
Writing with the blood of my heart for gold
The silver-strained song of my youth is not to be sold
And i shall no longer endure the abuse
Of scoffers and silence to my great name
When I'm propped up posthumous in perpetual fame

No longer shall i toss my rubies to boors
Who trample it into the wanton clay
My verse shall endure in a luminous day
And before the eyes of the poetically pure
For only the select shall see my treasure
Which shall live until the death of forever.
