when I was going nuts (thought Kubrick had controlled Tom Cruise's entire life for Eyes Wide Shut) one of my professors told me that in V. someone broke a plate and saw a "V" and thought there was this huge conspiracy behind it. he told me that there are coincidences in life that make it seem rational to have delusions but that's not the true way.

I always found it fascinating that paranoia had been practically transformed into a positive at one point, using paranoia to escape solipsism, to fear the "other", one must acknowledge the existence of the "other".
Paranoia brings us together, it is one of the few things that reminds us of being human. there are other choice moments in which it is clear that among the chaos of the work, there was one clear line guiding those silly cliches.
