>> No.11576510

i used to read that with my dad. Brings me back, thanks for the memories.

>> No.11576520

Harry Potter. I was one of that generation that got to grow up along with the books, so I had basically no choice.

>> No.11579968

i read this story once about the marriage of a young boy and girl in the backdrop of an apocalyptic gods' war. the story is set as the god of wanderers (patron god of the arabesque people the boy is descended from) quits the field while the armies and society of the god of order (slowly murdering the fuck out of everyone else)

there's a bunch of family drama and they travel to a nearby city and some crazy shit happens.

does anyone know what i'm talking about? i have no idea if it was YA to be honest with you but i've always wanted to re-read it. thx.

Star Wars books (not technically YA I guess, but might as well be. Abandoned at age 13)

yes. There are a few DnD games from Black Isle Studios. the plot has a big entry but I recall being discontented from the story when I played it. most fun I had in Dnd was (in another game I think) tricking dark elves and a demon into killing each other.

Brandon Sanderson had this fun series called Alcatraz Smeardy and the evil librarians. I really enjoyed it but it took him so long to release the final book that I never read it. The reviews say it's uncharacteristically dark so maybe he accounted for the children that read the first few growing up?
