this is all accurate. it's like a Hemingway short story blown up by the psychological closeness of Joycean stream of consciousness. it can be a drag at times because of this but I found it a mostly easy read, it has a momentum and a lightness in spite of its lyrical density, and a sense of impending doom that pulls you on
