Don't listen to the "greeks first" meme, existentialism connects with modern readers way better and you're tapping into an awareness of the long tradition of thought in which philosophy evolves simultaneously; you can get hyped about reading more philosophy and because you're actually reading you probably won't become like the arrogant self-righteous PC self-labeled "postmodernists" that get all their intellectual intake second-hand from awful things like the new yorker or youtube
