I published a poetry book haha :)

>> No.11514120

I have a poem out for submission to a literary journal of some note. Unlike certain other journals, with this journal it's become quite clear that the longer they keep my stuff, the more seriously they're considering it (I've submitted to them before). The last time they kept something of mine as long as this poem, their rejection of it let me know that it had made it into their final round of reading. So if I can break my old record, maybe I'll get the poem published.

The trick is that I don't think the poem is very good. It's a poem I wrote one night when I was pining over a girl, and I submitted it to them on a whim. I've advanced as a poet considerably since I wrote it, and so if they wound up rejecting it, I really can't say that I would blame them.

But I certainly wouldn't be disappointed to have it published, even if it's far from my best work. So here's hoping.

Bad.
I sent 2 stories to a contest and neither won anything. Now, I knew that those stories weren't very good, but I thought that everyone else was going to suck even more. Lesson learned.
