Insightful take on the inconsistencies of modern society or just some scrambled pseudointellectual Tarantino bullshit? Talk about it

Forgive me for being a brainlet anon, I'm pretty new to literary discussion like this and I'm afraid I'm not terribly well read

I'm gonna start this soon, been sitting on my shelf way too long and I've cut down my backlog by a decent amount.
Looking forward to it but I feel like I'm way too late to the party and it's already been discussed to death.

This is relevant.

When i was younger i bad a journal. In it i mentioned that movies and tv shows appealed to the masses. Their main characters held up the values of the average sheep while the villains were beyond morality and actually correct. Anyway, my journal was illegally passwd around the country and top companies got hold of it. It started a revolution in values but i was left out of the money to be made. Im basically a nigher who got hacked and cheated and ripped off while the world got high off my ideas.

Why did it say that Yossarian fell in love with the chaplain in the first chapter? I was almost expecting some homolust but it was never mentioned again.

So? Start up a thread once you're reading it and we'll talk about it again, don't be so insecure anon.

I personalty hated it, for as much insight as it had on "modern" life and on vaguely allegorical characters made to represent larger institutions. I was coming off of Slaugherhouse five and Catch-22 just spends to much time fucking around, for as good as the writing can be at times, it takes two steps back for every time it jumps the timeline.
