Where should I REALLY start with philosophy?
No, I’m not going to read the fucking Gr**ks. I don’t care about 2000+ year old texts.
1800 or later only please.

If you can't even read fucking Plato, whose writings are perfectly accessible, you might as well not bother. People don't recommend the greeks because they're trying to meme you into wasting time on irrelevant history, but because they're a genuinely solid entry point, Plato in particular.

Honestly, it sounds like you're looking for someone like Peterson; a man who talks philosophy without having read it.

I’m not really sure. I just have a broad interest in the nature of consciousness and thought

I would say Peterson is actually pretty well read on Nietzsche and has most definitely read Kierkegaard. He is no philosophy king but he is more well read than a lot of people here.

I do not think he has read Plato or aristotle though, Spinoza, etc.

Wouldn't surprise me if he's read Kierkegaard or Nietzsche, thought I doubt he's done it extensively. I was mainly thinking of his constant talk of postmodernists, and then his admittance that he hasn't actually read Derrida or Foucault.

Read The Foundation for Exploration by Sean Goonan immediately.

Honestly, do what I did and read this. Skip the chapters you don't really care about. This book is better than any survey course on philosophy.

Ignore this. Read Kenny and then Copplestone if further interested.
