What is the black metal of literature?
Bonus points for poetry.
Brownie points for non-obvious poets.

http://untimely-reflections.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-space-in-between-stars-third-of.html

"I see the universe as a chain around our necks. Totally negative: destroying them, chaining them, making them small. Salvation - it is the contradiction of everything that we know. The color of your hair or your eyes... all these things become totally devoid of meaning. I hate my flesh; I love the space in between the stars. Let them see that what they perceived as good, and real - is false."

Black Metal aesthetics are pure romanticism

Moby Dick is very polished and technically well-written, though. OP's album is a terminally edgy LARPing kid screaming into a headset he got at a pawnshop that is well-liked precisely BECAUSE it is repetitive and somewhat amateurish (I like it quite a bit, for the record). Any lit equivalent would have to be something amateurish and style-over-substance (liked for the "aesthetic")

I love this reading. I wish Jive did more like this.

Agreed.

Don't get too caught in the album posted; there's polished black metal too. But what encapsulates the atmosphere the best?

His Kali Yuga video has the same kind of tone, and he is reading poetry I guess, just much older poetry.

This is so polished it has a whistling section. I'll post the English lyrics I guess since it's /lit/, also they're also in the closed captions. Very Indo-European thuggery here.

Showers of bombs
In the metropoles:
Our worst hounds step out of shadows
To blast the capital.
Let your towers of glass and of steel,
Crumble and fall.
May they roll,
In a diabolical storm,
On their very makers.
And your icons, and your crowds,
And your merchants, adorned with crowns
May they with them
Melt down like butter
May they feed then
As cream the gutter.
May they offer us the joyous collation
Of their soft putrefaction,
We’re Peste Noire the faction
Against the modern world.

With a bat we’ll heal
The technocrat
We’ll pierce the golden boy
Through his heart.
On top we’ll re-establish
The aristocrat.
As for the Republic, we’ll ruin
Her cunt.

With a bat we’ll heal
The plutocrat.
We’ll pierce the speculator
Through his heart.
On top we’ll re-establish
The aristocrat.
Democracy – we’ll ruin
Your cunt.

Hooliganism is my blood
And my spirit is elitist
With a knife or a rod
We’ll cross you off the list.
The metropolis is in confusion
We came to take some action.
It’ll make Willy erect
To see your big trunk on a picket.
This is my pack, these are your fellows,
Yeah it’s a riot, now back off
We’re causing too much chaos…

How do the black metal fans feel about refugees in Europe?
Has this genre united into so much as factions, even political ones?

There is a substantial rightist and national socialist presence in black metal (the acronym "NSBM" meaning "National Socialist Black Metal"). Leftist tendencies in the genre are more likely to be of the nihilist, libertarian, and satanic varieties than the "I really care about the weak" variety involved in multiracial socialism. I would say black metal fans would be much more opposed to mass migration than fans of almost any other genre of rock music with the caveat that there are a whole lot of dumb and unconcerned black metal fans.

A bit off topic but I've even come across a couple examples of Asian nationalism in black metal, which is a real treat to behold.
Japanese (Glorifying Japanese empire)

Taiwanese (Against Japanese empire)

Chthonic got signed to a big western label where I don't think an artist glorifying the axis could which explains the vast difference in production quality.

Black Metal fans are anti-religious (specially against Abrahamic religions) and refugees are Muslims so based on that fact, they aren't very welcoming. In general though, they are nihilistic and they don't care whether these refugees live or die as long as they don't affect them.

>>11484059
I have the impression that the average black metal fan is more clever than fans of other metal subgenres. I think I got that impression from guys like Fenriz who's the coolest in the scene.

Fuck yes, if you can read French I'd recommend reading their lyrics. It's as close to lit as I've seen black metal get

Thanks for posting it.

Why is there so much French black metal?
