Just finished, thoughts?

I feel that there is a certain artsmanship that comes alongside creating a timeless children's tale. I believe that while not purely marxist in nature, it could be too.

Hungry Caterpillar is a classic because it's about LIFE in the cosmic sense. We are all born tiny and must feed and eat in order to develop and grow. Note the prominent sun imagery - all life on Earth originates from the energy of the sun. Lunar cycles determine our reproduction.
The illustrations of food are fantastic and still make me hungry to this day.

"Draw Me a Star" is the superior Eric Carle book, however.

It's a book on Christian ethics.
The caterpillar is born on a leaf. Instead of eating it, he eats other things - he starts with small amounts of fruit and builds up. By the final day he's eating junk food. Pizza, ice cream, you name it. And you know what? It just makes him feel sick.
On the last day he returns to the leaf. He eats several holes through it, and finally feels full.
Moral of the story is, basically, the distractions of the world won't satisfy you at all, only the word of God can.

Did you put your fingers through the holes in the pages? I didn't understand the first time either until I tried that

>> No.11466991

The holes in the leaves and fruit etc represent the inherent hollowness of pursuit of material things, only Apollo and Artemis (pursuit of the divine) can enable us to progress to the next stage of spiritual development and shed our worldly cocoons

Right now I'm pursuing a divine rat tail that appeared to me in a dream.

It promised salvation in return for a puma tracksuit.

Okay Anon, you're going to need a stanley knife and a cutting board. Carefully make a circular incision at the centre of each type of food - it's going to be difficult with the cookie, but I believe in you - and try to stick your finger through the resulting aperture.
