Gay being not, perhaps, le mot juste, as it were, for his dear distinguished presence, but posting this, his little picture, nonetheless, all too indefeasibly.

Yield though I do to no-one in my admiration for Jorge Luis Borges, what gave you the idea that he was in any way homosexual?

Were you confusing buggery with blindness? Or were you confusing Borges with Lorca? Or were you trolling?

>> No.1146624

>>the waste land is dedicated to the love of his life

The Waste Land is dedicated to "Ezra Pound, il miglior fabbro", who was most definitely NOT the love of Tom Eliot's life.

I think you're thinking of the dedication to "Prufrock and Other Observations", which is dedicated to "Jean Verdenal, mort aux Dardanelles", which is arguably the love of Tom's life, and the subject of The Waste Land (at least in John Peter's reading of the poem)

What does /lit/ think of Chuck Palahniuk? I stop by here every once in a while and have never seen him or his works mentioned. I wouldn't be surprised if Palahniuk posts are normally /lit/ trolls, and I also wouldn't be surprised if he's got fans here.

What say you, /lit/?

He's such a mixed bag. I appreciate his minimalist, action heavy writing style and pitch black sense of humor, but his current stuff is too contrived. Instead of just writing a good story, he makes everything into some kind of a challenging writing assignment, which is great if he were doing it on his own to grow as an author, but annoying from a readers standpoint as it keeps pulling me away from immersion. Fight Club, Choke, and Diary were good. Haunted had some good shorts, but the main story that ran through it was awful. I haven't read Invisible Monsters or Survivor.

Also, my favorite gay authors are all beat generation. Ginsberg, Kerouac, Burroughs, etc.
