There's a Chinese canon and an Indian canon, and a Buddhist canon and a Japanese canon and a Korean canon.

Maybe you could combine Japanese, Korean and Chinese into East Asian canon of early Chinese works that were influential all over East Asia.

But you cannot combine East Asia with India, because only a small section of Indian texts (Mahayana Buddhism) was influential in East Asia, and nothing from East Asia was influential in India. They are not the same cultural sphere.

These. Of course I love the Western canon, but the East is a much bigger and disparate place than the West and they don’t have this same chauvinistic thing of unifying all their works into a canon/definite tradition. There’s different canons of literature and philosophy by country.

Ok but which translation of Analects? Because the one I tried was unreadable garbage. I think Google translate would've done a better job. Or Analects is just crap, that's possible too I guess
