Yes, but the sucking is part of what makes it cool.

Because in other arts, like painting, or film, or weaving, or music, the beauty of the artistry is more tangible, artists love beauty, it fulfills them, it makes their heart leap and spine tingle, and it is something of their carrot on a stick, but the writer cannot so clearly see in front of him immediately the beauty of his artistry. So much of his time is searching in the dark depths of mind, disconnected from certainty, wading in the deep waters of choice and decision, to try to weave and paint beauty, out of words, and ideas, and representations... only to result in a bunch of crooked little black lines

I honestly could relate to that as someone who hopelessly aspires to be a writer.Everytime i dont write i feel depressed and detached from people. When i do write i mostly just write about depressing shit ,like im some sort of faggot.

Most writers (and artists in general, really) have extremely low testosterone levels.

Because intelligent, creative people see the world for what it really is.

Suffering drives creativity and expression. Writing gives them hope.

You think some succesful happy content person is gonna write an interesting book dealing with the realities of life? Probably not.

Because most of the painters in human history were known for their lightheartedness, positive worldview and not a single one was depressed or drank like an inverse fountain, right? RIGHT?

Simply put, what kind of person is willing to be alone long enough to read and write something substantial? They definitely have to be introverted and/or socially maladjusted in some way.

Combine this with the fact that most writers are emotionally sensitive and that's pretty much a recipe for depression.

how do you think the painter felt upon completing that painting? when he looked on it and said, ok im done with it, was he proud, satisfied, did he admire it, did he cherish it, did he think it enjoyable and valuable, humorous, delightful, profound, touching, cathartic?

>> No.11461701

isnt it obvious? i mean it seriously.

if you adapt to your commnity wthout problems then you dont have to reflect about experience but simply give yourselfto its evidence, wheras if your adaptation failed you need to consciously make an effort to perceive more than spontaneous common sense reveals. this breeds all kinds of arts.
