I'm looking for a book by a Canadian author to read for my one my classes, and i don't want to end up with an excruciatingly boring one by mistake. Can you guys help me out?

The Darkness that Comes Before. It has a lot of juice in its scenes.

And by juice I mean jizz.

Well... I hate atwood. But you could go for Oryx & Crake / Handmaids tale if you want flat dystopia

Alternatively, you could take the gibson and have some fuckyea moments of c-c-c-cyberpunk, but at the same time suffer the curse of the Jamaican cosmonauts, VOODOO ON DA NET, and related bullshit

look at that fucking troll, LOOK AT HIM SMILE WITH THOSE FUCKING GLASSES.

Anything my Micheal Ondaatje.

Specifically, In The Skin of a Lion, or The English Patient.

You're trolling, right? Canadian books are by definition excruciatingly boring.

Here's some that are less excruciating.

Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love, by Brad Frazer (or watch the movie)
Tempest-Tost, by Roberton Davies
Sarah Binks, by Paul Hiebert
Oryx and Crake, by Margaret Atwood
The English Patient, by Michael Ondaatje (or watch the movie)

Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures by Vincent Lam.

Hmm, that might be a little difficult because a lot of authors I know are mostly American. It's a pity, me being Canadian and all. But I think one of the greatest books I've read is 'A fine balance' by Rohinton Mistry. It's incredibly long but it's an amazing book. I have just recently started a blog where I post poetry/artwork and I will continue to do so. If you could please visit and provide criticism I would appreciate it! :-)

ITT: Mother fuckers haven't heard of Alice Munro.

Give Alice Munro a look. She's pretty much the only Canadian author I read, as most everything that comes out of Canada is utter shit.

This anon has some rage issues with Canada, but s/he is correct about Munro being great.
