Usually we are recommended books to "challenge our notion of colonialism. " But usually those books are anti colonial. Are there any classics that paint it in a good light or argues for colonialism convincingly?

summat by rudyard kipling probably
his writing about his travels through the colonies e.g. canada are pretty pro-empire
he also makes a few snide racist comments along the way

Kipling was a total rascist. You should read any pro British essays written in the 1800s, OP. A much more interesting question is why you would want to ever argue for colonialism?

is it truly anti-colonialism? i saw it more as the loss/death of culture due to colonialism. the book focuses a lot more about the main character, his village, culture, family, and subsequent decay of said culture to leave room for the colonists.

You'd generally have to go back to actual colonial literature, in particular reports and memoirs by British officers.

You might also want to look at Flashman, but just for fun, not ethical arguments.

/pol/ would advise you to watch Empire of Dust to see a Chinese prospector haranguing africans about how they've let their country go to hell since the Belgians left.

You would also be interested in the abolition of practices like sati, and things that don't fit into the narrative, like Mussolini's abolition of slavery in Ethiopia.

...Bernal Diaz also wrote an account of the conquest of Mexico from the Aztecs. As nasty as the inquisition-era Spanish were, it's hard to say they were worse than the Aztecs.

I'm going to take this opportunity to interject a third opinion on the jews, seldom voice.

They are basically Hapsburgs. An inbred international elite that has its heyday for about three hundred years, then lapses into obscurity.

With the internet, easy international travel, rock solid international banking connections, anyone can do today what in the 19th century only Jews could do. We are all rootless cosmopolitans now. Which means the Hapsburgs have competition.

You do realize that the current European migrant crisis is to a large extent a by-product of colonialism, right? Why do you think most non-white migrants in Britain and France come from their former colonies? Imperialism pretty much always leads to multiculturalism.

They're not exclusive unless you're autistic enough to ignore the connotations of the terms in addition to being an unironical cultural relativist.

Spreading technological innovations, infrastructure, medicine and banning the practice of burning child brides alive when their 80yo husband dies = good, and is not the same as importing people who contribute next to nothing of cultural or economic value whilst promoting regressive and violent values. Hospitals and railroads > welfare leeching and rape gangs.

imo the colonialists do not destroy the culture, the africans do by way of no longer understanding it themselves.
