when I was a teenager I could not understand how girl readers I knew were going through 100+ pages/ hour and I was struggling to reach 50. I thought I had to be some brainlet but then I realized that the reason they were pulling those numbers was because they were not paying close attention to the author's nuances and subtexts. They were merely keeping track of the plot line. Nowardays, depending on the book I can spend up to 30 minutes splliting my brains over a couple of pages. I know that I am never going to finish that book but at least I know that I can get a lot more value ruminating 30 pages than speeding through 300.

That's because you will regret everything you do in life.
Think about any decision you've made where something could've turned out multiple ways. You probably at least wonder about the possibility of the other choice.
Unless you are working toward one goal, where a decision made can be obviously correct and lead you in the right direction, you will probably regret your actions. And even then you will probably still regret it.
