I mean, it was in my mind to follow this chart but now I need another book to start

Maybe Thomas Bulfinch has been translated in your language? What language are you working with? That'd help us be able to figure something out.

why do people here like this? what so special about it? I've seen it like 50 times in stack threads.

Can you read latin better than or worse than you can read English?

How about Spanish translators? What are they better at?

I think they're better at latin. Responding to the other question, I only studied latin and ancient greek 2 years

Stack threads are full of newfags following the start with the greeks chart.

Do you think Robert Graves is ok too?

I recommend Bulfinch's Mythology. It's an amazing book divided into three parts detailing Greek myth, King Arthur, and Charlemagne legends, respectively. I fell in love with it as a kid.

... why the fuck would you not read it in English? If the answer is "I suck at reading English", you should unironically be studying English instead of reading about mythology. And I say this as a fellow native Spanish speaker.

>why do people here like this?
... because Greek mythology is cool and often made reference to in literature? I can't think of a reason why *not* to read it if you have the faintest interest in literature.

This is the same advice I've been giving people for years. There is no need to read any modern, secondary works on mythology if you can read works by people who actually grew hearing those stories as bedtime tales.

Ovid assumes the reader already knows a lot of the people and gods though. Bad advice.
