is it okay to put lewd stuff, like jacking off, sex, in books for young adults? I have a book audience for teenage girls, but theres tons of sex scenes throughout them, the main girl is obsessed w dick

>> No.11398405

Yeah, you could probably sell your teenager erotica at the bookstore in between Chuckie Cheese and Pizza Hut.

>> No.11398409

Yes. Post an example pls

>> No.11398416

legitimately what most YA is. teenage girls are more depraved than any of you motherfuckers, and i include the footfags and vorefreaks in my assessment

no its not erotica but YA fantasy

You can't say anything directly, but you can imply whatever you'd like.
Write anything: "Chelsea was found sleeping naked in bed with Jamal, both covered in sweat" just don't ever explicitly mention sex in any way.

As long as your audience is middle-aged men, and you have no desire to be published as a YA author, it's fine. Otherwise, of course not. Go read Twilight and follow instructions.

I have a YA book about a gay kid that gets caught jacking off in the shower and then fallen angels who hate jacking off try to kill him, while a demon teaches him sex ed.

YA is a cornucopia of all the shit that nobody would publish in adult books, because nobody actually cares about kids.

John Green has that infamous blowjob scene that gets posted on here a lot

This. Of course you have to put sex in things aimed at teens. Why the fuck else would they care

im having trouble w this. cause young kids are fucking all the time. it's artistically honest, not porn, and it's for young kids, but it's frank. but it always revolves around them fucking w blunt language. is it really so bad, and if so, why?

Are you jewish? Because that's some extremely jewish transgressive shit to do.

Hell no, it's not bad--but YA is the single most policed and challenged part of literature, and the one where parents freak out the easiest. The most banned and contested living author is Judy Blume, because what teens want to read and what their parents want them to read is a war zone. So publishers have to be very careful what chances they take.

Just try and see what happens. If it’s good enough it will get published

What compels a man to write trash for prostitots anyway? You ever consider not being a weirdo?

I'm surprised Beatrice Sparks hasn't done a novel on nymphomania. She's covered drugs, alcoholism, running away, anorexia, even the fucking occult. Although I must say the classic Go Ask Alice fucked me up back when I thought it was strictly biographical. I feel that it belongs among the ranks of Anne Frank.

Does the main girl resemble Maisie?

pretty analogous to a lot of different real life situations, actually, the bible belt, the whole thing about "science being demon arts", religious zealots.

The fallen angels are fallen because they take parts of the bible and just fucking lose their minds over it (another example given in the book is that one angel decided incest was murderworthery and got hordes of people to kill siblings that were even alone in a room together- not having sex, just, you know, hanging out). The kid summons the demon because nobody else will give him any straight (HA!) answers.

It was actually a pretty cool book.
