Nihilism is just another word for teenage existential angst. Find a girl and start a family. All your problems will be gone. No need to obfuscate despair beyond what it really is. Kierke is a fraud.

Your problem solely lies there. Reading books won't get you laid. Follow the social protocol and be a subservient citizen. Spiritual rebellion is a dead end.

Kierkegaard as well as Schrödinger's writings on Vedanta philosophy broke my nihilism, or at least gave it a sustained challlenge.

Depression is a meme. Don't try to override your biological imperative and satisfy your physical needs then it will be gone. The rest of your problems are embedded in social constructs and won't matter in grand scheme of things.

1. Yeah, because no one in a relationship or with children has ever suffered existential despair.

In the moment perhaps it's uncommon (doubt it), but divorce, bereavement, betrayal (from spouse or offspring) are likely the leading causes of such despair later in life. If what you're saying is true then that wouldn't be the case, people could shrug their shoulders and go "well, i tried, not my fault shit didn't work out perfectly but I found meaning anyway".

2. Even if that would be true it amounts to nothing but a distraction. Possibly a successful distraction, but a distraction nonetheless, and you're tacitly admitting that the nihilists are right.

3. I very much doubt it's a cause-and-effect thing going there regardless. People who feel like their family gives them meaning are people inclined to feel such a thing at start, displaying a clear willingness to escape the feeling that life is some sort of existential struggle. Whereas those who don't simply would never feel better form such a thing. Even in the context of organized religion there are those don't feel suited for family life and choose to lead a monastic life.

I'm not siding with the nihilists in general but this contrived notion of "happily ever after family life" is for people unable to see the divine.

"Today’s orthodoxy essentially has its abode in the cordial drivel of family life. This is utterly dangerous for Christianity. Christianity does not oppose debauchery and uncontrollable passions and the like as much as it is opposes this flat mediocrity, this nauseating atmosphere, this homey, civil togetherness, where admittedly great crimes, wild excesses, and powerful aberrations cannot easily occur – but where God’s unconditional demand has even greater difficulty in accomplishing what it requires: the majestic obedience of submission. Nothing is further from obeying the either/or than this sweet family drivel." - t. your supposed fraud.

What makes you say this?
I think you start from the misconception (one that is comfortable for you), that responsibility eliminates "existential despair" (we'll use that term for the time being), but what if, rather, they existed side-by-side, each working in their particular way and suggesting their course of action. If faced with this choice (however many times), a man will choose his woman and his child over - well, whatever existential despair makes you do. Facing a choice between the latter and a career, a hobby, a desire, maybe he won't find the decision as easy.
