If anyone is interested in reading the Bible, I recommend getting a study Bible (I highly recommend the Harper Collins one); they include historical context, explanations on symbology, alternate translations, etc. It's not a book you read from cover to cover. Choose one book or section you'd like to know more about then read up about the historical context and its target audience. Reading it without any context is pointless and can lead to the formation of wildly inaccurate ideas

The Bible contains tons of archetypal stories and characters that are almost blank slates, so no shit you're going to encounter lots of similarities to ANY literature or film. If your point of view is this limited and superficial, you can even accuse the New Testament of plagiarizing from the Old Testament, or even The Bible as a whole being plagiarized from older texts (Rig Veda,Gilgamesh)

tl;dr: Bible is full of archetypes and op has a very narrow worldview
