He has the shadow of a point I think. At least when it comes to women, all of the ones I meet that seem particularly sweet and earnest turn out to be rape victims, suicide survivors, former psychiatric inpatients or some combination of all three. I’m not about to insinuate that these traumas improve women, because when you get to know these people they are clearly broken and have trouble functioning.
