It's still fascinating when you see how words are formed and realize that you've been using them for your entire life without ever reflecting on how they came to be.

For example I recently realized stereotype has the word stereo in it which meant something like a 3D block in Greek so stereotype is used as a blockage of sorts. The only reason I ever bothered to look it up was because Deleuze and Guattari were using it in a weird way (as they did with most concepts).

Also people praise stuff as sophisticated even though it literally comes from sophists and sophistry (not saying all the sophists were bad, only that the words took a negative connotation over time).
