That photo of Harris is really really nice. Shame about the context. Anyway, the one thing I dislike greatly about the whole "intellectual dark web" phenomenon is that it plays into the small ragtag team of rebels propaganda narrative that has the supposed SJW-Activist class has valorized themselves as since the beginning. These are all well to do academics and entertainers who live more or less well off lifestyles that are quite distant and different than the majority of people do. Both sides want to claim they represent some form of counter culture, rebellion or whatnot facing off against a monolithic omnipotent empire but they all have more in common than not. It is a war in heaven being raged through blogs, Ted Talks and various internet news outlets. This is not to say that they or their enemies do not have some legitimate grievances or have no trickle down effect on to the rest of the world, but that the conflict is anemic and over-hyped. Call me when Sommers or Weinstein yells "NIGGER" from a podium in front of some graph depicting IQ scores by race before being assassinated by a non-binary latinx anarcho-syndicalist wielding an AMR from a wheelchair....or they get more interesting arguments.

I would rather say that it is too early to point out the greatest thinkers of the 21st century.

There is a theory that technology grows together with its users. Thus the internet too grows from ping pong and pixel art, to mass porn, to attempts at intellectual discourse and actual human to human bonding, after which maturity is reached, together with the possibility to produce fruitful results. So the internet is growing, but like human life, this takes time, and the internet doesn't seem to have matured completely just yet. But it is getting there, in its 28 year history. Mind you this theory does not purport that the growing technology strips away its older parts, i.e. the vestiges of its growth, but rather that it adds to them, supplants them with ever more sophisticated and useful modes of operation.

So I would rather consider that some of the greatest thinkers of the 21st century are yet to appear, and are currently lurking on this very board.
