/lit/ only cares about metaphors when it comes to defending papa Harold Bloom's opinions on papa Shakespeare. Other than that, the metaphysical poets are rarely mentioned, Chinese poetry is not talked about, the Rubáiyát remains unread, and Leopoldo Lugones is unknown.

Tell me about Lugones. What's the connection between his work and metaphor?

>> No.11323413

>>11322773
Lugones wrote a whole book exploring metaphors for the moon, eventually accumulating hundreds of them.

He was the single biggest influence on how Borges saw the metaphor, which eventually led the great fictionist (and also great neoclassical poet) to formulate his own theory on the subject, explored in his Harvard talks, available on YouTube.

Is that based on Catullus?
