Is humor /lit/? I don't really think it fits under other categories.

I made a joke but I don't know if it is any good:

>A local resident of Vancouver walks his girlfriend home from a date. They walk out of the night club out of a side door into the alleyway. The gf then says: Mother, father I'm home!

Post jokes I guess.

Well, according to Aristotle, comedy represents men at their worst, while tragedy represents men at their best.

So humor is not /lit/

Nice one.

Are there any must read books or plays on humor?

Jokes are in fact considered a part of literature, so it is on topic.
Also, the joke doesn't make much sense to me. I'm not american...

Vancouver is in the middle of a housing crisis. It costs about 2000 CAD per month to rent a single bedroom apartment and very little is being done about it. Also other places literally bus the homeless to Vancouver because it has more homeless support services.

American=from America
I'm not from America. I'm therefore also not from Canada, so I can't understand the joke.

I'm not going to argue that.
But /lit is humorous. That's the only reason I come here.

Two faggots are sitting on a bench in the park. Suddenly, a really hot girl walks past them. One faggot says to the other:
"I regret for the first time in my life that I'm not a lesbian."

Sure! Anything can be "literary", I guess. Most jokes just... aren't...

it's like how Michael Bay's movies are technically 'art', but in the same way Call of Duty is 'art'

/lit/ is, without a doubt, the least humorous board on the chan. That being said, it is also the least literary board on the chan. So therefore, humour must be literary.
