It's funny that even Descartes said that there is very little difference between the opinions of great philosophers and your average guy - i.e. they are varied and across the whole spectrum - the only difference is the philosopher has wasted his whole life coming to the same conclusion the typical farmer has. So what's the point?

t. someone who has spent more time reading, writing and thinking about philosophy than my entire neighbourhood combined.
