Read it like a bedtime story and focus on other stuff. The chapters are short so if you read 2 of them a day you can finish it in a little over than a month. You won’t forget what’s going on because of all the epigraphs. That’s what I did.

It’s difficulty doesn’t come from STEM knowledge or anything, at least nothing you can’t easily look up. It’s in the prose and Pynchon’s boomer knowledge and references. If you can get into the prose you can google all the references and other stuff. I’d recommend starting with one of his other books if you’re new to him. Crying Lot, V or Inherent Vice.
