Pynchon is a Wikipedia skimming lolsorandumb unfunny hack that rode the pomo wave perfectly. As that other poster says in his copypasta topics he posts with the Ezra pound picture, he caters perfectly to insecure English Literature majors who need obfuscation to convince them that they are engaging in a productive and mentally taxing hobby.

Have you tried reading Moby Dick?

I find it immensely readable. My dad always talked shit on it and said reading it in school sucked, so I never bothered to pick it up until a few years ago. The first chapter is super comfy. Reminds me of reading Seneca but even more intelligent.
