What are some books that prepare you for a death of a loved one?

I don't know, man. I could give you plenty for your own death, but I know I'm nowhere prepared for my own mother's passing. The best thing you can do is spend meaningful time with them. I'm sure it's what they would want the most, you'll have the rest of your life to come to terms with their passing, they only have so long to be with you.

Based homeward bound though

My post:

People are afraid of death because of unfulfilled desires.

Spend time with loved ones until you're sick of them.
Do something with your life until you're sick of it or feel accomplished.

None. It is always a horror and there is no preparation. Only pre-emptive destruction at best

i was reading the heart is a lonely hunter around the time that my mother was dying of cancer - there's obviously some overarching themes of grief but if you want more direct catharsis you could probably read some books actually about the grieving process like a death in the family or birthday letters

Why would you assume these stupid airplane novels would be any help whatsoever

you're not asking for help you're asking for recommendations no book's going to help you in the grieving process outside of catharsis
