I just want to be able to read comics on an e-reader in color and not on a shitty tablet. I don't care about video.

We're probably at least 15 years away from comic-like e-ink in terms of color, sharpness and texture

this, I like my kindle 3. It's cheap and works ok.

Do you use KPV/Koreader? I need a better way to read some pdfs. 90% of my stuff is epub but I still need some PDF capabilities and koreader still leaves something to be desired on nontouch devices.

It strains your eyes a little more if you read for hours at a time and is harder to read outside but that's about it.

What is the best e-reader to get if I want to download the entire western canon and then pretend i'm gonna read it all?

Used Kobo. Easier to side-load stuff, Kobo DRM is easier to remove and customer support will offer you store credit if you run into tech issues.

I have issues with getting VIP membership before a sale and I have gotten five dollars back after I contacted the support staff.

Only downside is that if you DL something, you can't refund it.
