Here's a little tip I've learned though, don't give the teacher too much more than he asked for. Teachers have to read each and every one of those papers from ever guy in class. The quicker you get to the point and demonstrate your knowledge of the subject material, the better you'll do in class.

As a college professor I just want to say that overachieving is not the same as being smart and its obvious how hard youre trying when I ask for 500 words and you give me a dissertation.

I mark off because part of the challenge is answering the question concisely and reasonable close to the word limit.
