My favorite album is Yeezus.

What is the /lit/ equivalent of Yeezus (I AM A GOD is my fav track).

I want to read books (doesn't matter if its fiction or non-fiction) that confirm my god complex and boost my ego.

The only characters I tend to relate to are the types like Bane, Tyler Durden, Patrick Bateman, and Napoleon in War and Peace.
Ambitious psychopaths with a god complex...

HOLY FUCK WHAT IS THIS???
I'm reading the 'manifesto' rn.
I fucking love it.
It's like what would happen if you make Nietzsche and Stirner listen to Yeezus while high on coke, and have them write something.
WOAH.

Is this Alex Kierkegaard, bald?
If so, I'm not interested. Bald men are subhuman. If it's not the case, then he's a genius.

only watched the movie, even if he was just a background character he was my favorite part of the film. wasn't really interested in the stories and relationship between the Russian royalties..I just liked how napoleon was written and how bigger than life he seemed.

Obviously smartchap, but if 4chan was the general society, this "orgyofthewill" venture would be equivalent to posting captioned quotes on sunsets and blurry cityscape backgrounds on instagram and tumblr.

You can do better than this /lit/.

If he's alive I then urge him to get a hair transplantation. As soon as possible.

Why far cry 2, is that some sort of reference.

Anyways, video games are for the spiritually bald. They're the equivalent of masturbation.

oh. thanks for the info.
Even if he's a thief, he still seems like an interesting fella.
I know some producers, I will try to investigate because I would love to do a documentary about him.

The actual book is explicitly against Napoleon being larger than life. Tolstoy hated the idea of any man being viewed that way and spent a huge portion of the book trying to deflate the idea of Napoleon being so godlike, almost to the point of it coming across as a personal attack. He claims that those massive battles, especially, were not won or lost based on their commanders but based on the sum of their individual soldiers and on circumstances beyond anyone's control.
In Tolstoy's eyes the "undefeatable genius tactician" type of stuff is applied retroactively to commanders who mostly were just in the right place at the right time. He strongly believed that you can't paint history as the heroic actions of a few people leading the way but instead that they are almost always figureheads of larger, widespread change happening at societal levels and that great men are more influenced by history than vice versa.
You should read War and Peace anyway because you sound like a bit of an edgelord. Watching the movie version of War and Peace and only enjoying how cool Napoleon is probably has Tolstoy's soul climbing its way out of hell to haunt the shit out of you as we speak. Tyler Durden and Patrick Bateman are also not good role models, both because they were intended to be horrifying exaggerations and because you aren't cool.

Shit. I didn't knew that. That really was insightful. You convinced me to read War and Peace.

Wasn't try to be an edge lord, these we're the only characters from pop culture that motivated me and made me value myself and to always aim high.

I'm a first year design student, so I'm not at all familiar with literature
I only read 2 books in my entire life; Crime and Punishment and Lolita. And I found them very depressing. I just wanted to find books that are up-lifting and inspiring but not in a corny way or trying hard.

>> No.11205615

>>11205522
Crime and Punishment had similar themes to the one I was talking about above - Raskolnikov's only reason for murder in the first place was his belief that some men were destined to be on another plane of morality like Napoleon, but when he tested the concept, he lost his faith in it.
War and Peace is quite good and has a mix of uplifting plotlines you're looking for and ones you will probably consider depressing. They interact very well though, Tolstoy was amazing at weaving characters together. If you want a more uniformly uplifting book to get started, The Lord of the Rings series is nice. You could try The Odyssey if you get vaguely familiar with a few Greek gods and some basic context of the Trojan War.

Thanks, on second thought I'm just gonna jump off my balcony in a few minutes now (guess Tolstoy's got to me eventually lol).
Not what I meant by uplifting but I still appreciate your recommendation. If there is an after-life I'll try to read War and Peace for sure.
