>continue with the Medievals
>become a convinced Aristotelian
>stick with the ancients and medievals
>eventually continue with the moderns
>everybody shitting on my man Aristotle
screw you guys, I wasn't ready for this rollercoaster.
Don't start with the Greeks unless you want your heart broken.

his metaphysical and natural philosophy are objectively and undeniably wrong and his ethics are only practicable by an independently wealthy aristocrat. what are you emotionally attached to?

This is a platonist board, friend.
Your boy Aristotle would be shunned either way.

Reading chronologically is like constantly having your beloveds beaten, raped and killed... and then once you think you’ve moved on, some fuck comes and digs up their corpse, revives them and restores them to an unblemished, even superior beauty.

Aristotelians do fairly well in the academic world, though. The scholars of ancient philosophy at Oxford are all Aristotelians.
Don't cry, anon, his physics may not be good, but the metaphysics and the ethics are still highly regarded works!

Aristotle is shit. I dont even like Plato but he's much better than Arishittle.

>> No.11203823

They aren't exactly shitting on his logic, though. Nussbaum and MacIntyre are scholars of Aristotle in the current year, the influence of Aristotle on all Western philosophy is vast and undying, he created our whole terminology to even just talk about these topics

What if the moderns are wrong? It's not a democracy, there is no rule that says they're right because there's more of them or because they're more recent.
