I read the Signet Classics Carslile translation. It was pretty decent.

Not a pseud. You're an idiot if you think P&V have good translations. The only reason they're talked about is because they had great marketing and pretty covers. Look around anywhere and you realize that their translations are inaccurate and not fun to read.

thanks for this, i finally understand why people trash P&V. i've never seen anybody on /lit/ explain it beyond incoherent shitposting so i assumed it was a meme. i've read the P&V translations of Notes from Underground, Brothers Karamazov, and Crime & Punishment, and now i feel like i missed out after seeing some of the comparisons in the article
