I like books by everything about literary culture is faggy. It is filled with people who mindlessly worship past works. It is mixed up with academic bullshit where low IQ people and frauds pretend that the secrets of the universe can be found in fictional works.

The fact that lit aspires to be the "all academic subjects except STEM" board is a red flag for the mentality of literary types.

Let's not forget that the current mode of corporate gatekeeping is worshiped by pseuds who don't have the independence to judge works according to their own tastes.

no u tool the reason that lit discusses a variety of topics is that there's literature written about a wide variety of topics

There's literature (both fiction and non-fiction) about psychology so we discuss psychology with reference to the literature

There's literature about killing jews so we discuss jew killing with reference to the literature.

This is basically what literary studies is and you're a dumb cunt if you don't get it.

Apparently, you're 10 years too young for literature. Come back later.

Also, if you don't understand why STEM books aren't included, you're among the low IQ frauds you detest, my friend.

People who pretend that reading is the only intellectual entertainment hobby are special people.
I honestly like books, but I can't stand pretentious readers.

Psychiatry is has become a genuine scientific pursuit in the time since Freud’s death. High School Psychology classes teach students to see Freud as a relic, an important part of the history of the study, but nothing more than an inspired philosopher. Such is the nature of STEM and the arts, this will not change.

It's almost like STEM has nothing to do with literature and therefore has no place on a board about literature... weird right?

Culture is the memory of a civilization, you piece of shit. If you're not looking to both the past and the future, you're stuck in an eternal present where lessons are never learned and there's no well to draw from.

Academic gatekeeping comes from the fact that there are literally millions of books out there, while even a heavy reader won't read more than 5,000-10,000 books in a lifetime. So that valuable reading time has to be directed, and it's usually directed towards the most influential and well-liked past works.
