Whatever it is, it rarely happens in the western world, if ever. It probably involves some minority in some God forsaken muslim or african shithole; not only it is unfair and has all the qualities of a proper tragedy, but it's also a violent and gruesome tale. Except for rare cases (violence, sexual assault, child abuse, etc.) Western life is a comedy. It doesn't matter how sad you are, you were not raped at ten, nor are you a child soldier in some tribal war somewhere.

I'm not denying it happens, but it happens less often. Tragedies are tragedies wherever they occur, but if they have to happen to you, the "less worse" thing is that at least you live in the west.
