Good question, I thought about this earlier. I don't read fiction when I'm writing fiction (and I'm working on a novel right now) so I just keep a .txt document of books I need to read (Storm of Steel, Hyperion, No Longer Human, The Map and the Territory, etc.) and will buy them one by one once the novel is finished.

This encourages me to be more diligent in writing so I can get back to reading things I love

I find a lot of comfort in always having a backlog.

What’s backlog?

>> No.11138036

I don't. I have about 30 books in my backlog currently and it could be years before I get to them since I'm always adding to it. You have plenty of time left to be reading, chill

"The poet is content to get his head into the heaven. The logician tries to get the heavens into his head, and his head splits." (Chesterton)

I guess I'm a logician on that count. Not only do I have a backlog of at least 200 physical and 500 electronic books, but I add to it faster than I read.

Help me /lit/.

I'll get to it some day, I swear.
