Is there any book that analizes the spectularization of intellectualism in the internet age?

It probably wouldn't take more than an essay to apply the spectacle to the internet. "The Internet, through its interactivity, incorporates the self into the self-meditation of the image, thus alienating the self even from its own contemplation," or something. The situation seems pretty straightforwardly spectacular

not sure, would be very interested to read that though.

i don't know if wouldn't really have much one-on-one chemistry with any of these guys. peterson, no, harris, almost certainly no, and murray, no. and so a potential three-on-one situation where they all gang up on him and refuse to laugh at his stalin jokes could be really unpleasant.

maybe he doesn't care, since what he would be looking at it is a whole alliance of people he already disagrees with. but it would have been pretty fucking awesome all the same. especially if he caught the holy spirit of walter benjamin, won the crowd over and stumped harris and JBP completely with some old-school ideological magic. what a swan song.

fuck no. anything but that. maybe rogan should spike the drinks first.

What do you mean by "intellectualism"? Public intellectuals have always been around, I'm sure Debord had them at least partially in mind when he analysed the celebrity as the embodiment of the spectacle.

But at least the darkweb has something to offer if you know how to use it

The recent explosion of people talking about the dark web really tells that the CIA has officially buttfucked it like it's name was Nur Taraki. I see all these commercials and stuff about the Dark Web as if it's a supervillain hangout when it's really just a place to buy guns and drugs with bitcoins.

bret weinstein on the right and his brother eric on the left. BW became famous after being pretty much exiled from evergreen college a few years ago. he gave a pretty good speech about the various language games used against him here:

pretty neat guy. his brother is smart too but (i think?) less well-known. he works for peter thiel also.

>>11128539
he's a pretty cool host and interlocutor when he's got people from this side of things on. he contributed hugely to peterson becoming known, and he's buddies with harris too. bret weinstein's been on his show, as has rubin. he connects a lot of dots.

>it's really just a place to buy guns and drugs with bitcoins
It used to be, but since a year most of the markets have been shut down. There's only a couple left, the darkweb is a much smaller market than it used to be. Not to mention since bitcoin's value has been plummeting it's not even as cheap to buy things as it used to be.
The darkweb glory days are over for now.
